The Fraunhofer FEP offers sheet-to-sheet coating technologies with high deposition rates that are specially designed for large-area vacuum coatings and the deposition of precision coatings.
With innovative processes such as electron beam and plasma technology, the institute enables the homogeneous deposition of a variety of materials on large substrates such as glass, ultra-thin glass, ceramics or metal. These technologies ensure a uniform layer thickness and high process stability, even with complex materials and demanding layer systems.
The sheet-to-sheet processes are characterized by their high environmental compatibility and an almost unlimited variety of depositable coating materials, which goes far beyond conventional surface finishing processes.
Our focus is on developing customized solutions for a wide range of industrial applications where precision, efficiency and scalability are crucial, for example in optics, electronics and environmental technologies.
